I composed this piece over many years of hiking alone through the backroads & deep woods of Harrisville West Virginia. Often I would come upon old abandoned houses, churches, and, overgrown cemeteries.
I would stop for long periods of time and just resonate with the mysteries of each of these destinations.

Many times I would feel the presence of ghosts and omens encircling me. Sometimes I could feel the weight of unresolved stares inside of some of these condemned buildings. As if I were still a trespasser of some hallowed ground.
Other phenomena such as myriads of birds that would envelope all around me in the churchyards. Splashes of butterflies followed by fragrant smells that would appear and encircle the empty rooms. All here then gone.
Sudden and severe thunderstorms that would suddenly come and go...

Rippling streams that would seem to whisper messages to me. I could often feel the desperations and yearning passions of times long past. Often times I could feel even my own blood-line find it's way through these visits. As each part of this music would begin it's thatch-work through my body, I could feel other inhabitants call upon almost all of my senses. as if villages of spirits would come and entertain themselves with my vulnerability when the music would modulate through me.

I can recall so many vivid memories like these along these timeless walks. I would find myself deep in the wildwood of the music. Just me, pen & paper. Always at some point perpetually engulfed by the hosts of these meadows. Awakening spirits in the hollows of afterlife, in pursuit of their own absolution.

Each of the melodies in this arrangement are stories, images, places, and faces of those I shared a special atavism of personal twilight with.
Every portrait obscured by the mysteries of my own mirrors of oracles within.


I'm extremely grateful for these far away journeys.
Grateful for everlasting countrysides of music and it's unconscious possession.
